Loading and Unloading Safely

Here at Young Brothers, all of our drivers are experienced in safely using tail lifts and we take every measure to ensure they are loading and unloading their vehicles safely. All of our vehicles are equipped with 1200kg tail lifts with extra long platforms to make loading and unloading as safe and easy as possible.

According to HSE (Health and Safety Executive) a few important requirements to consider when using tail-lifts are:

• Make sure all surfaces are slip resistant
• Ensure the tail-lift platform is only used when the vehicle is parked on level ground
• Drivers must be wearing suitable slip resistant footwear
• Ensure the vehicle or trailer has its brakes applied and all stabilisers are used
